Where do the 4 stars in front of the ID come from when I scan with the barcode reader?

If 4 asterisks appear in the scanned ID on the SECUTEST display, the barcode reader has been set for the PROFITEST (P)SI-BC. These characters are required to "wake up" the memory module from standby. In the instructions for the PROFITEST (P)SI-BC, the barcode around these asterisks can also be deactivated again (chapter "Configuring the barcode scanner").

The SECUTEST must not be operated with these asterisks, as the PC evaluation programs cannot cope with them. The reset code in the instructions for the scanner or in the instructions for the SECUTEST (P)SI cannot remove the asterisks. Only the barcode in the instructions for the PROFITEST (P)SI.-BC can remove the stars.

Unfortunately, there is no common setting for the scanner with which both devices can be operated without reprogramming. If the barcode reader is frequently required for both devices, the purchase of a second barcode reader should be considered.
