Why does the fuse of the profi test sometimes drop when an RCD is tripped?

If a load with an inductance is connected to an RCD, this inductance generates a reverse voltage which can be very high when the RCD is switched off.

The profit test is protected by surge arresters, which allow a current to flow in the event of an overvoltage. With larger inductances, this current can become so high that the fuse of the profit test trips.

It is best to switch off all loads before carrying out a trip test.
