Changing the METRACELL BT PRO fuse

In some applications, the total voltage of a battery system can exceed the rated voltage of the METRACELL BT PRO of 600 VDC. With a battery, e.g. consisting of 50 12 V blocks connected in series, a total voltage of up to 720 VDC is quickly reached during charge retention. When measuring the total voltage, the internal fuse can be triggered if a test lead is accidentally connected to the P+ input. In order to achieve the necessary breaking capacity in this voltage range, we offer to replace the fuse installed in the METRACELL BT PRO.

The previous fuse will be replaced by a fuse with the specification 2A/1000VDC/30kA. As expected, this fuse will also have a higher breaking capacity at a total battery voltage of 600 VDC. This also provides better protection for the user when using test leads with a lower loop impedance (but always ensure that the test leads are at least 1m long). The minimum block voltage for resistance measurement after this upgrade is 1.5 VDC. We offer free fuse replacement and return transportation within Europe. Please send us only the meter without case and accessories, well packed. Measuring devices in which a new fuse has already been installed (recognizable by a label on the back with the fuse data) are excluded from this offer.
